Location: Island Pointe Golf Club - Knoxville, TN

Island Pointe is located along the French Broad River and offers one of the most scenic and unique golf experiences in East Tennessee. The golf course winds through rolling terrain and dramatic elevation changes, with several holes set on true "islands" connected by wooden bridges. Known for its beautiful views and challenging layout, Island Pointe provides a memorable round for all golfers.

Island Pointe is searching for a motivated, detail-oriented assistant superintendent to join our maintenance team. This position works closely with the golf course superintendent to help oversee all aspects of daily maintenance, crew leadership, and agronomy practices to ensure exceptional playing surfaces.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, scheduling, and supervising the course maintenance operations
• Lead, train, and motivate greenskeeper staff
• Monitor turf health, irrigation needs, and pest/disease pressure
• Assist with the proper application, calibration, and record keeping for all pesticides and fertilizers
• Lead course improvement projects
• Operate and maintain turf equipment
• Help manage the irrigation system, repairs, and watering schedule
• Ensure safe and productive work environment
• Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Schedule: full-time, required to work some weekends and holidays

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of golf maintenance experience required
• Degree or certificate in Turf Management or related field is helpful but not required
• TN C03 pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain within 60 days
• Strong knowledge of turf management, irrigation, and equipment operation
• Leadership qualities
• Must be reliable, organized, and have the ability to maintain good communication with the superintendent
